Brow aging (ptosis) occurs when the lateral part of the eyebrow begins to drop and obscure the eyes. A female brow should arch while the male brow is typically straighter. The brow must be analyzed together with the upper eyelid, which can also appear aged due to excess skin and fat. Lifting the brow can be done endoscopically (Endo-Brow) or through an incision in the hairline.

Muscles of expression which cause wrinkling of forehead skin can be weakened to give a smoother appearance. A well-done brow lift should decrease forehead wrinkles and make the eyes more visible without making the patient look “surprised.”
